Born and raised in Sparta, New Jersey, Attorney Jeffrey Patti is an active member of the local legal community, representing members of the public in civil and criminal matters. Jeffrey Patti now heads the general litigation firm of Patti & Patti Esqs. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh, Jeffrey Patti earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School. While attending law school, Jeffrey Patti clerked for a prominent litigation firm in Wayne, New Jersey, assisting in the defense of claims for personal injury, worker’s compensation, and civil rights against the City of Paterson and the County of Passaic. In 1998, Jeffrey Patti passed the New Jersey State Bar exam, obtaining his license to practice law in the state. He initially began his career at an insurance defense firm, defending cases on behalf of the insurers. Deciding that he would rather represent individuals than insurance companies, Jeffrey Patti has focused his practice on helping injured parties ever since. His experience in litigation defense affords him an invaluable insight into insurance companies’ legal strategies, enabling him to advocate effectively in negotiations and before courts. Among the practice areas handled by Jeffrey Patti are personal injury, criminal defense, civil rights claims against governmental actors, real estate, and commercial disputes. A number of cases handled by Jeffrey Patti have gained considerable recognition. One case on which Jeffrey Patti litigated, Green Township Education Association v. Rowe, involved education policy, free speech, and employment issues. Other cases reported in local newspapers included Jeffrey Patti’s lawsuit against Andover Township Police Department, alleging improper training of police officers involving individuals with mental illness, and a claim for severe bodily injury caused by insufficient inmate supervision at a youth facility, which concluded in a $90,000 settlement for Jeffrey Patti’s client. Jeffrey Patti maintains memberships in the Sussex County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (New Jersey Association for Justice), and the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey.
